Natalie Simmons will step—at least for now—into the top job as International College of Hotel Management (ICHM) Chief Executive, and Dr George Brown formally takes on the role as Principal.

Natalie Simmons, currently Director Finance and Administration, steps in as ICHM’s Interim Chief Executive from early next year, and Dr George Brown has been appointed Principal after acting in the role for the past year.

Natalie is working alongside current Chief Executive Gerald Lipman who will step down as Chief Executive in January 2020 after 22 years.

Prior to joining ICHM in May last year, Natalie had been National Manager Corporate Services for medical indemnity company MIGA for 15 years, responsible for Finance, IT, Business Analysis, Projects, Risk and Compliance, and Facilities Management. She was previously with FH Faulding & Co and Mobil Oil.

‘ICHM is a well-established and internationally recognized institution that delivers on the vision of being the hotel school of choice for the industry professionals of tomorrow. I look forward to the opportunity to continue to provide our students with the highest quality education and industry connections and the opportunity to grow the college’, says Natalie.

Prior to his appointment as Acting Principal and now Principal, Dr George Brown was ICHM’s Director Academic, responsible for maintaining the integrity of academic standards.

He previously held senior academic positions with Navitas Study Group (Australasia), Australian Institute of Business and Think: Education Group (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Laureate International Universities).  Earlier, he had helped establish ICHM’s degree programs while working with the Regency Institute of TAFE.

‘Ever since its inception, ICHM has continued to be at the forefront of industry-relevant, applied and academically rigorous higher education. I am pleased to be part of a professional team whose mission is committed to equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and professionalism for their futures’, says George

ICHM was owned by the Lipman family from founding in 1992 to 2017 when it was acquired by Charles Darwin University.
