Gregg Harper joins the Woodlands Resort as General Manager

The Woodlands® Resort announced the appointment of Gregg Harper as General Manager. With more than 20 years of previous industry experience, Harper is eager to continue to elevate Texan retreat as an idyllic destination for friends, families, weddings, and corporate meetings and events.

In his newly appointed role, Harper will provide an overall vision of The Woodlands Resort and oversee sales and marketing initiatives, day-to-day management of rooms, food and beverage, operations, engineering, all while ensuring a memorable experience for guests. Harper assumed his current position after serving as General Manager of The Westin at The Woodlands, for nearly two years. This previous experience makes his transition to The Woodlands Resort seamless, as he is already well versed in the traditions of the local community.
Throughout his career, Harper has managed everything from boutique and branded hotels to full-service resorts. He has previously excelled as General Manager at a wide range of properties from coast-to-coast, including Hotel Becket in South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; Salishan Golf Resort and Spa in Gleneden Beach, Ore.; Oxford Hotel in Bend, Ore.; and Holiday Isle in Key Largo, Flor. Other properties for which Harper has held upper management positions include Palmetto Dunes Ocean Resort in Hilton Head, S.C.; and Kessler Canyon, a Marriott “Autograph Collection” destination in Colo.
Born and raised in Bend, Oregon, Harper studied hospitality administration and management at Oregon State University and went onto earn a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel and restaurant administration from Washington State University. During his downtime, Harper enjoys fishing, hunting, the outdoors and is an avid equestrian. He resides in The Woodlands and has one daughter Camryn Harper, who is a Senior at the University of Arizona.

There are certainly more to come as we continue elevating the guest experience. I look forward to working alongside the resort team and creating memorable experiences for travelers and locals alike.”
