Pereira will lead the team of the 242-two room suites hotel located in a quiet and upscale area near the Birmingham Zoo and downtown Birmingham. The hotel offers 5,100 sq. ft. of flexible meeting and event space, a fitness center, fully equipped with cardio machines and weights and a heated indoor swimming pool.
Pereira joins Hilton from Westin Hotels where he was the director of operations for the 294-room hotel in the area, increasing ADR and REVPAR over 10% in the past two years. An effective and motivating leader, he is black belt certified in Six Sigma training, an improvement methodology for performance and increased customer satisfaction through defect reduction.
Coming up through the ranks of banquets and food and beverage, Pereira has worked in various hospitality management positions in Orlando, Miami and New Orleans effectively leading and motivating his teams to ensure financial success while improving guest and team member satisfaction. During his tenure as director of banquet operations at the one million square foot Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, he seamlessly orchestrated a dinner for 15,000 people.
Pereira has been and will continue to be active in the local business community and civic organizations, including the Central Alabama Hospitality, Attraction & Business Association, and the Lawson State Community College Culinary Program Advisory Council.
Pereira attended Liceu Camoes and Universidade Catolica in Lisbon, Portugal. He is fluent in Portuguese, English, Spanish and conversational French.
