The Luxury Collection Hotel, Changsha opening team announced

Mexi Lake Hotel, The Luxury Collection Hotel, Changsha is pleased to announce the appointment of key members of the new property’s executive team that will open the city’s highly-anticipated hotel in September 2016.

The Luxury Collection Hotel, Changsha will rise high above the Xiang River at the epicenter where urban culture and commerce meet ancient history.  Designed by Callison RTKL and offering 310 guest rooms — including 6 suites and an expansive 270-square-meter Presidential Suite – will offer an urban oasis of modern luxury where guests can enjoy serene river views, captivating culture, and the city’s multi-layered history.

Eddie Tang, General Manager – An instrumental team member for numerous new hotel openings throughout the world, Mr. Tang has over 28 years global experience as a hotelier managing pre-openings and operating luxury hotel properties.  Most recently, Mr. Tang was general manager of The Castle Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Dalian, where he played a key role in the highly successful opening of the luxury hotel that is housed within a castle.  Prior to joining Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Mr. Tang worked for international hotel companies including Shangri-La, Renaissance, and Hilton.

Isaac Han, Executive Assistant Manager – Mr. Han is a seasoned hotelier who bring 31 years of experience with international brands such as Meritus Group, Beauford International, Hyatt, Renaissance, and Holiday Inn.  He previously oversaw operations as the executive assistant manager at Sheraton Waigaoqiao Shanghai.

May Huang, Financial Controller – Ms. Huang has an impressive accounting background and has earned many awards for her contributions to hotel financial operations throughout her career.  She has served as financial controller at several five-star hotels in China including Kempinski Hotel Harbin, The Castle Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Dalian, Sheraton Daqing Hotel, and Shangri-la Hotel Fuzhou.

Andy Hu, Director of Sales and Marketing – Mr. Hu is a hotel marketing and sales professional with more than 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry.  Mr. Hu has directed sales and marketing most recently at The Westin Wuhan Wuchang and at Sheraton Changsha Hotel where he successfully led his sales team to achieve outstanding performance with overall revenue ranking in the top three of Starwood Greater China.

Tony Shen, Director of Culinary & Service – Chef Shen has 15 years of experience working in the kitchens of several international hotels.  Known for his collaborative spirit and professional ethics, Chef joins The Luxury Collection, Changsha, from his executive chef role at Pan Pacific Hotel and Serviced Suites Ningbo. His culinary experience also includes The Castle Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel and The Luxury Collection Hotel Shanghai.

Rae Wang, Director of Rooms – Ms. Wang joins The Luxury Collection, Changsha, following success as part of the opening team for The Castle Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Dalian.  She has extensive pre-opening and guest relations experience which she gained from front office and managerial positions at properties such as The Westin Ningbo, Zhejiang, and Sheraton Hohhot Hotel and Shangri-la Hotel Hohhot in Mongolia.

Carmen Zhang, Director of Human Resources – Ms. Zhang has directed human resources and held managerial roles, developing new teams from pre-opening and beyond at several five-star hotels including Four Points By Sheraton Chengdu, Anren, Four Points By Sheraton Hainan Sanya, Pullman Sanya Yalong Bay Resort& SPA, and Eadry Royal Garden Hotel Haikou.

Jason Liu, Chief Engineer – Mr. Liu has a 21-year background in hotel engineering management.  He most recently held the director of engineer position at St. Regis Zhuhai Hotel and Sheraton Zhuhai Hotel.  He has also worked for Shangri-La Shenzhen, Futian Shangri-La Shenzhen, The Westin Ningbo, and The Luxury Collection Hangzhou.  He has been involved in the opening of four hotel properties.

Terry Tan, Executive Chinese Chef – Chef Tan has more than 20 years of experience working on culinary teams at some of China’s best hotels.  He most recently was the catering director at Hengyang Linyin Holiday Hotel.  He was also the Chinese Kitchen Executive Chef at Sheraton Changsha hotel.

Sony Cao, Chief Concierge – Mr. Cao is known for exceeding guest expectations with his exemplary service standard, organizational skills, and team-oriented approach.  He most recently served as Chief Concierge at HUALUXE Nanchang High-TECH Zone and his hotel experience includes The Castle Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Dalian, Kerry Hotel Pudong by Shangri-La Hotel Group, and Traders Hotel Beijing by Shangri-la Hotel Group.
