The International Hospitality Management (IHM) of Stenden University the Netherlands which is represented in four countries (including Stenden University Bali) has recently been accredited by the highly regarded Institute of Hospitality in the UK.
Following an intensive audit, Stenden succeeded to receive such prestigious acknowledgement and became the first university in the Netherlands to gain accreditation by this esteemed organization. The Institute of Hospitality in the UK is a benchmark organization for hospitality and is recognized by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. It strongly supports the promotion of the highest professional standards within hospitality, leisure and tourism.
By getting this accreditation, Stenden joins a select group of international education institutions, including Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Emirates Academy and a number of leading universities in the UK, including the University of Derby. This confirms that Stenden offers programs of the highest quality that are relevant to the needs of the industry. In addition, it also shows that Stenden’s IHM meets recognized levels and standards of professional, knowledge, skills and understanding in its education.
Earlier this year, the Tourism and Hospitality Management programs of Stenden have successfully met international accreditation Standards of Excellence. Stenden has been welcomed as a Full Member of the International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THE-ICE), an independent international organization body which provides a rigorous review of an institution’s courses.
THE-ICE praised Stenden for its educational programs which “provide mature and well-structured courses with a strong industry engagement”. Stenden is commended for the incredible achievements in respect to the respective research output and the establishment of the Centre of Expertise for Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality together with other institutions in the Netherlands.
Both of these accreditations confirm Stenden’s commitment to excellence in tourism and hospitality education as well as to internationalization.
