Momentus Hospitality launches in Asia with first flagship hotel

The first Momentus hotel in Asia will be officially opened on 1st March 2023. Momentus Hotel Alexandra is a 442-key property that will reimagine the guest experience with a rich set of features and amenities targeted at the new traveller in the post-pandemic era.

Presiding over its surroundings at Alexandra Road, Momentus Hotel Alexandra appeals to both astute business and leisure guests who seek access to the city and proximity to the comforts of the Singaporean heartland.

Angeline Tan, Vice President, of CES Hospitality shared: “We are heartened that the Momentus brand story starts here in Singapore. A city best known for its unique juxtaposition between the cultural east and the cosmopolitan west. This trait is highlighted by the interplay between property design, guest features, and service philosophy set out by the founding team. I believe this is the start of an exciting journey for our Momentus brand, where guests can create Moments with us.” Designed by KKS International, a leading hospitality interior design company responsible for some of the most notable international hotel brands, this property will offer a stay experience in line with the Momentus brand values of ‘Relaxing by Design, United by Purpose and Close to Nature’.

Relaxing by Design

Elegant spaciousness awaits as guests step into the airy, high-ceiling lobby. Comforting brown tones hold court while a stunningly-detailed feature wall sits centre stage – heralding the start of a memorable hospitality experience. For the convenience of its guests, the hotel offers both physical and app-based contactless check-ins.

After a breezy check-in, guests can elect to unwind in their rooms. Designed with an air of calmness, each room offers an abundance of natural light with lofty ceilings and chic contemporary decor. Modern amenities ensure a home away from home, from soothing rain showers to a quick browse through the in-room entertainment.

For a breath of fresh air, a visit to the seventh level is highly recommended. Put together by Social F+B By Design, a renowned design collective, the vision was to transform the entire level into a destination in itself. Complete with a 25-meter-long
infinity pool that offers sprawling verdant views of South-western Singapore, the pool is bounded by two stellar F&B outlets — The Verandah Pool Bar and Grill and the Verandah Rooftop Rotisserie. Guests seeking simpler fare, can throw on their
swim gear and splash over to the swim-up bar for tipples and bar bites. For more robust choices, the rotisserie offers premium cuts, roasts, and wood-fired pizzas.

If privacy and exclusivity are preferred, an upgrade to the Momentum Club is de rigueur. Momentum Club guests have access to a myriad of bespoke services such as personalised check-in and check-out, breakfast buffets, all-day refreshments, and
evening cocktails.

But the most stunning privilege of all is access to the Momentum Club Lounge. Located at level 19, our highest floor, the Momentum Club Lounge grants magnificently unimpeded views of the city skyline while providing privacy to our
most discerning guests.

United by Purpose

To complement its high level of service, Momentus Hotel Alexandra will initiate a comprehensive training and development program designed to grow the service scope across all staff positions. This is part of the hotel’s commitment to an
exceptional guest experience.

For example, front office members will assume concierge duties to provide a seamless check-in and host experience for guests. Our technicians will be dual-trained as craftsmen and will be outfitted with the skills to monitor and repair electrical fittings in-house.

Other extensions to this program will include our sales team who will be dual-trained in both room and banquet sales as well as equipped to handle digital marketing. The reservations team will undertake the role of a call centre as well, fulfilling a one-stop contact point for all guests.

Momentus’ commitment to guests will be equally paired with its dedication to its staff. Counselling services, a mentorship program, and a well-defined career pathway will help Momentus team members to grow into their new roles and provide support in their career journeys.

Close to Nature

Momentus is committed to sustainable outcomes and it is reflected in different aspects of the hotel’s design and operations. And it starts with energy conservation.

In-room smart digital thermostats and anti-thermal coatings on the property’s facades ensure efficient energy use while not compromising on the guest experience and comfort. This mindset is also reflected in the deployment of vinyl flooring which reduces the need to rely on high-energy vacuuming and the installation of recycling bins in every guest room.

The hotel plans to eliminate the use of nearly a million plastic bottles per year by severely reducing the use of single-use plastics with filtration taps for drinking water (no more plastic bottles) and the installation of permanent dispensers for cleansing products.

There is also a conscious choice by the hotel to use biodegradable materials for dry bathroom amenities such as toothbrushes, combs, and cotton buds. In terms of kitchen operations, the culinary team took efforts to minimise food wastage by implementing a waste tracker to optimise future menu planning and championing whole-ingredient cooking techniques.

A particular highlight is the Verandah Rooftop Rotisserie where a hydroponic corner is set up to cultivate salad greens and herbs, used in the dishes and beverages served at the restaurant and bar. In a nod to further sustainability, the Verandah Pool Bar and Grill is progressively switching to the use of biodegradable glassware.
