AMFORHT; World Association for Hospitality and Tourism Education & Training – an NGO recognized by the United Nations for training and Education in hospitality, gastronomy and tourism industry – chose Paris to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
And President Philippe FRANCOIS announced the color; “Hotel training must lead it’s educational revolution”
Millennial generation and the globalization of the hospitality and tourism trades should force us to rethink training quite fundamentally. Our “way”, our tools, our methods, our teaching rhythms become obsolete not only in the face of a booming industry, but also in the face of an exponential global growth training market and, finally, in the face of students who are not at all the same people as 10 years ago! Let’s review our strategy fundamentally” said Philippe FRANCOIS.
Created in 1969 by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), and recognized since 2017 as the interlocutor of the United Nations for hospitality and tourism training and education, AMFORHT has just gathered in Paris some 160 personalities coming from 31 countries for its 50th anniversary’s celebration.
The French National Assembly, represented by the Deputy Pascale FONTENEL-PERSONNE, President of the Tourism Group not only opened the Hôtel de Lassay to the guests, but also participated in the debates in collaboration with the UNWTO, the IH & RA, ACCOR Group, the GNI, and the Ministers, Ambassadors, Presidents and international personalities.
French Ministers Jean-Baptiste LEMOYNE, Jean-Michel BLANQUER and Muriel PENICAUD welcomed the delegates. Their opening address reminded all about the fundamental role of training in the trades of tourism and services, and the underlining excellence of the French know-how in this field.
