Hilton celebrates Hospitality Apprenticeship Week

As the hospitality industry recognizes the first Hospitality Apprenticeship Week, Hilton is celebrating its centenary year with a record number of apprentices employed across its hotels and corporate offices in the UK.

More than 230 Team Members are currently working towards Level 2 and 3 qualifications across areas including cookery, sales, fitness and front office, and Hilton recently launched its first Level 4 and 5 programs for those looking to hone their leadership skills.

Earlier this year, Hilton was named #1 hospitality company to work for in the UK, due to its supportive culture and commitment to seeing its Team Members thrive.

Kay Harriman, Senior Director HR, UK & Ireland said: “Apprenticeships are a fantastic springboard for interesting and dynamic careers in the hospitality industry. At Hilton, we have more than 230 apprentices working towards Level 2 and 3 qualifications right across the UK, and we recently launched our first Level 4 and 5 apprenticeship programs aimed at developing leadership skills. So whether you’re looking to kick-start a career in the kitchen, or build your skills in sales, fitness, maintenance or management, there are some terrific opportunities. During Hospitality Apprenticeship Week we’ll be celebrating the contribution our apprentices make to our business and highlighting the range of career paths available at Hilton.”

Katrina Dickens, Meetings Simplified Team Leader, Hilton Leeds City (previously Team Leader apprentice) said: “Apprenticeships are a brilliant way to progress your career and develop new skills. I started my apprenticeship just as I was starting a new position and it has given me confidence and helped me to become a better leader. So much of what I have learned can be directly applied to my role and is useful when I face new challenges. I’d recommend an apprenticeship to anyone looking to take a step to the next level.”
