We are sure you have seen the recentÊCaterer articleÊidentifying that less than a quarter (22%) of 16-21-year-olds in the UK say they would consider a career in hospitality. This is something that the Edge Hotel School wants to change.

The report highlights that 26% of young people didn’t see hospitality as an industry to work in after obtaining a degree. The majority of Edge Hotel School graduates take up hospitality roles and make the industry their career of choice. We believe that our percentage is so high because of the strong relationship between the School and the industry.

My Hospitality Life, an Edge Hotel School initiative, is inspiring young people into our thriving and vibrant industry. ÊAs part of the initiative Andy Boer, Principal of the Edge Hotel School, has writtenÊa blogÊwhich includes a video created in collaboration with Springboard to showcase hospitality careers as a choice. ÊWatch the video.

This video can be used to inspire some of your 16/21-year-old workforce to the value of obtaining a degree to further their hospitality careers. ÊIf you have shining stars who are trying to decide on their future career paths, please tell them about us and we, in turn, will encourage them to keep in touch with you as they continue to develop as young professionals.
