IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, announces the signing of Crowne Plaza Vienna, bringing the Crowne Plaza brand back to Austria. The hotel will be operated in partnership with FEURING Asset Management GmbH, a hotel asset management company with a strong track record across key European destinations.
Expected to open towards the end of Q3 2026, the sustainable, design-led Crowne Plaza Vienna planned from Pritzker Prize winner David Chipperfield and inspired by the Austrian National Library, blends intelligent design, cultural depth and contemporary comfort.
The hotel will offer 195 spacious guestrooms, including 22 suites, of which the ones on the top-floor offer unique panoramic views across the city. Located in Vienna’s Margareten district – a vibrant, mixed-use neighbourhood undergoing an urban revival – the hotel is conveniently positioned between the Opera House and Schönbrunn Palace, with convenient access to the Margaretengürtel underground station.
The EU Eco- and Austrian Environment Label–certified hotel will cater to business, leisure and blended travellers, featuring five flexible meeting rooms with natural daylight for up to 140 delegates and an underground car park with e-charging facilities. Crowne Plaza Vienna will also feature an Austrian-inspired restaurant serving locally sourced cuisine, a sophisticated bar, generous rooftop fitness terrace and wellness area with stunning city views.
The signing arrives at a time of significant momentum for Vienna as a destination. The Austrian capital recorded more than 20 million overnight stays in 2025 – its strongest year for city tourism since records began – reinforcing its position as one of Europe’s most attractive cities for both corporate and leisure travel.

The hotel will bring IHG’s presence in Austria to 20* open and pipeline hotels and strengthen its footprint in the city of Vienna to 11* properties.
