IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, today announces the opening of InterContinental Taipei, marking a significant milestone in the continued growth of its luxury portfolio in the Taiwan market. Developed in partnership with Farglory Group, the hotel represents the partners’ second InterContinental collaboration, following InterContinental Kaohsiung. Together with the recently signed Hualien Farglory Hotel, Vignette Collection, these developments further strengthen IHG’s growing Luxury & Lifestyle presence in Greater China.

Located at the heart of the Taipei Dome complex in Xinyi District, InterContinental Taipei brings the brand’s globally recognised luxury hospitality to one of the city’s most dynamic destinations, connecting guests with Taipei’s business, cultural, dining and entertainment offerings.

The 347-room hotel features seven distinctive dining concepts, including restaurants led by internationally renowned chef Akira Back, alongside versatile event spaces, an indoor pool, a fitness centre and Club InterContinental. Classic Rooms start from approximately 38 square metres, with selected rooms framing views of Taipei 101, while residential-style suites from approximately 76 square metres offer a full kitchen, dining area and in-suite laundry. Designed around the spirit of “In Taipei, For Taipei,” the hotel draws on the city’s architecture, culture and collective memory — from lobby installation to the musical motifs woven into its event spaces. Opening as InterContinental Hotels & Resorts celebrates its 80th anniversary, InterContinental Taipei serves as the brand’s flagship in the Taiwan market, welcoming international travellers and local guests alike across business, leisure and social occasions.

Robbert Manussen, Area General Manager, Luxury & Lifestyle, Taiwan market, IHG, and General Manager of InterContinental Taipei, said, “Taipei is a city of extraordinary energy and modernity, but also one defined by a distinctive sense of warmth and an exceptionally rich way of life. Our ambition is for InterContinental Taipei to be more than a hotel in Taipei; it should feel like a hotel that belongs to Taipei. We want the hotel to become a gateway into the city: a place where international travelers can experience Taipei more deeply, and where local guests can discover new ways to enjoy the city they call home.”

The opening of InterContinental Taipei further strengthens IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in the Taiwan market. The brand’s presence in the market now includes InterContinental Kaohsiung (opened 2021), InterContinental Taichung (opened 2024) and InterContinental New Taipei Hot Spring (opened 2025), the brand’s first hot spring resort in the Taiwan market. Together, these properties reflect the brand’s ability to deliver distinctive luxury experiences across major urban centres and resort destinations, serving both international and domestic travellers.

Looking ahead, IHG remains confident in Taiwan market’s long-term hospitality potential, supported by its cultural heritage, diverse tourism offering and appeal to regional and international travellers. As demand shifts towards more differentiated, experience-led travel, IHG will continue working with trusted owners and partners to expand in the right destinations, bringing globally recognised brands and locally relevant experiences to the market.
