Starwood Hotels & Resorts Southeast Asia is pleased to announce the appointment of Kumar Renoo as General Manager of the newly opened Le Meridien Putrajaya.
Kumar will look forward to establishing the 353-room Le Méridien as the market leader in its class. His distinguished 22-year career with Starwood Hotels & Resorts gives him the hands-on management experience to take on this exciting key role. Prior to managing the successful opening of Le Méridien Putrajaya, Kumar spearheaded the opening of Four Points by Sheraton Puchong as the General Manager.
In his previous role, Kumar held the challenging position as dual General Manager for Sheraton Langkawi Beach Resort and Four Points by Sheraton Langkawi Resort concurrently. He was responsible for managing the renovation and refurbishment project of the latter to its successful opening, before assuming management responsible for both properties.
During his career, Kumar served in a number of departmental management roles, beginning as Director of Food & Beverage at the former Sheraton Subang Hotel & Towers. In this role he managed six food & beverage outlets and all outside catering operations, including the Malaysian Formula One Grand Prix race at the Sepang Circuit. Kumar was also Executive Assistant Manager – Food & Beverage at Sheraton Perdana Resort from 2001 to 2005; he was then promoted to Director of Operation and tasked with the rebranding of Sheraton Perdana to The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa.
Kumar earned a Diploma in Business Management from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and has continuously complemented his core skills with specialist training programmes at Starwood in a range of disciplines including Food and Beverage Yield Management, and Leadership and Strategic Planning.
