“With four versatile meeting spaces and thoughtfully designed communal areas, Club Med Borneo reflects how we are evolving our Meetings & Events offering to better serve the needs of modern corporate groups. As sustainability continues to be a key priority for clients across the industry, this resort has been designed with that in mind, allowing groups to come together in a setting that fosters connection, creativity and wellbeing, while minimising environmental impact.

“Beyond the meeting room, our curated mix of team building and CSR experiences enable groups to engage more meaningfully with the destination, creating moments that go beyond the traditional conference format and leave a lasting impact. We can’t wait to welcome our first clients and watch Club Med Borneo set a new benchmark within our portfolio of extraordinary destinations.”

Where rainforest meets sea: Premium experiences and team adventures await in Borneo.

Located just 90 minutes from Kota Kinabalu International Airport in the pristine enclave of Kuala Penyu, Club Med Borneo offers a unique escape where ancient rainforests meet the sparkling ocean. Designed to blend seamlessly with its surroundings, the resort is framed by lush greenery and cascading water features, with warm sunset lighting reflecting the colours of Borneo’s famed evening skies.

Designed with corporate groups in mind, Club Med Borneo offers versatile meeting and event facilities, including four fully equipped meeting rooms that can be configured into two larger spaces for flexible set-ups, alongside a dedicated foyer for coffee breaks and welcome receptions, and an outdoor terrace ideal for aperitifs. Beyond the boardroom, groups can elevate their experience with a range of team building and CSR activities, from flying trapeze and pétanque to immersive initiatives such as mangrove kayaking, jungle exploration, nature walks, educational workshops and local cultural experiences, creating meaningful opportunities for connection, collaboration and impact in an extraordinary natural setting.

From a sweeping Infinity Pool that merges with the horizon to versatile social spaces like the Splash Park and Pasir bar, Club Med Borneo offers a range of settings for both relaxation and networking. Dining options include the vibrant Alam buffet and the upscale Laut, ideal for corporate dinners or incentive group meals, while the Spa boasts individual tropical chalets tucked within the forest providing a serene escape for executives seeking wellness and focus in between meetings.

The resort features 400 elegantly designed rooms, including 39 Exclusive Collection Suites, offering privacy and comfort for corporate guests. The Mutiara Exclusive Collection Space serves as a secluded ‘resort within a resort,’ complete with private lounge, pool, and bar – an ideal setting for executive retreats, VIP incentives, or small-group meetings.

With Borneo renowned for its orangutans, Club Med Borneo offers corporate groups the chance to engage with the destination’s rich wildlife through the curated Sandakan Wildlife Discovery excursion. Available as a 3-day, 2-night or 2-day, 1-night experience, groups can visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, where orphaned and injured orangutans are nurtured and taught essential jungle survival skills. Closer to the resort, the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary and the Sun Bear Rehabilitation Centre provide opportunities for immersive, team-focused experiences in protected natural habitats.

Additional excursions reveal Sabah’s hidden gems, from snorkeling in Pulau Tiga and river cruises through diverse wetlands to encounters with wildlife in their natural environment. Curated cultural activities, including pottery workshops, interactive culinary classes, and traditional dance performances, provide meaningful ways for groups to connect with local communities and heritage.

Sustainability remains at the forefront for corporate clients, with Club Med Borneo’s BREEAM-certified design and pursuit of Green Globe certification delivered across four pillars: eco-conscious infrastructure preserving mangroves and coastal forests; a zero-waste philosophy; intelligent resource management ensuring energy and water efficiency; and dedicated wildlife and biodiversity stewardship protecting Sabah’s unique fauna and flora. These initiatives allow corporate groups to deliver premium, all-inclusive experiences for their teams, while aligning their programs with both business values and sustainability objectives. The resort also supports local economic growth, generating over 350 direct and indirect jobs and employing hundreds of local construction workers during development.

Bookings for Club Med Borneo open from 24 March for travel starting 16 November 2026. During the soft opening period, until 4 January, only Suites and Deluxe rooms will be available.
