The Naumi Auckland Airport Hotel has been listed for sale, offering investors a rare opportunity to acquire a high-quality, airport-adjacent asset in New Zealand’s gateway city.
CBRE’s Michael Simpson, Wayne Bunz, Tom Gibson, and Peter Hamilton are managing the sale on behalf of Naumi Hotels via an International Expressions of Interest campaign.
Originally constructed in 1973 and subsequently expanded in 1986 and 1996, the Naumi Auckland Airport Hotel is a two-level, upper-midscale accommodation offering situated on a substantial 19,758 sqm freehold site.
The property underwent a comprehensive refurbishment and rebranding in 2018, re-opening with a refreshed identity and significantly upgraded facilities.
CBRE’s Pacific Head of Hotels, Michael Simpson noted the benefits of the hotel being offered with vacant possession.
“The incoming purchaser will have full flexibility over future management strategies including owning and operating the hotel themselves, appointing the existing operator to manage the property, deploying capital expenditure for repositioning and re-branding, and engaging an alternative third-party operator,” he added.
CBRE’s National Director of Hotels Wayne Bunz said, “The New Zealand Government’s strong commitment to tourism growth and foreign investment is a key driver of long-term value. With targeted campaigns in high-value markets, increased sector funding, and no stamp duty or capital gains tax, New Zealand presents a uniquely attractive environment for offshore hotel investors.”
Positioned at 153 Kirkbride Road in Mangere, strategically located minutes from Auckland’s International and National Terminals, the hotel comprises 194 stylishly upgraded guest rooms and suites. It features a wide array of guest amenities, including the Lunar Restaurant & Bar, a modern Asian dining concept, alongside a gym, seven conference and event spaces, a guest lounge, outdoor swimming pool, and on-site parking for 110 vehicles.
Mr. Simpson added, “The property is strategically positioned just minutes from Auckland Airport, which is currently undergoing significant expansion. With the Government forecasting a doubling of visitor arrivals over the next two decades, the hotel is exceptionally well-placed to benefit from long-term tourism growth.”
The Expressions of Interest campaign closes Friday, 12th September 2025 at 4pm (NZST) unless sold prior.
