The first Meliá property to open in Thailand has launched a “resort within a resort” called The Level, that sets apart 55 luxurious rooms and suites as well as a private lounge and a raft of bespoke privileges.
Overlooking secluded Choeng Mon Beach on the north-eastern tip of Koh Samui island in the Gulf of Thailand, Meliá Koh Samui’s 24 ‘The Level Pool Access Rooms’ have private terraces that segue to a remarkable 700m-long lagoon pool meandering through the resort’s lush grounds like a river.
Thirty elegant two-story ‘The Level Boat Suites’ are made from meticulously refurbished merchant vessels that are more than 100 years old. Six of the boat suites afford vistas of the resort’s two-level infinity pool, with sunken seating areas and in-water lounges, and Choeng Mon Beach beyond. A further seven boat suites offer direct access to the lagoon pool.
Situated on its own exclusive floor for privacy, The Presidential Suite, totalling 156sqm with a vast living area, 10-seat dining table and private balcony overlooking the lagoon pool, also belongs to ‘The Level’.
The Level offers an upgraded level of service and benefits, including access to an executive lounge shaped like a boat’s hull with all-day snacks and beverages. The Level Lounge boasts a vast open terrace, surrounded by a water feature, with panoramic views of Choeng Mon Beach.
A host of The Level privileges includes complimentary afternoon tea and complimentary cocktails and canapes at The Level Lounge from 2.30-4.30pm and 5.30-7.30pm respectively. During the latter, guests also have the opportunity to learn how to make cocktails at the lounge’s cocktail counter.
A superior level of personalized service encompasses private check-in and check-out at The Level Lounge, welcome amenities including chocolate and fruit, a dedicated concierge service, and preferential reservations in the resort’s restaurants and bars by the concierge.
“With The Level, we have introduced a resort within a resort that prides itself on both exclusivity and privacy,” said the resort’s general manager Ernesto Osuna.
“Drawing upon our warm and sunny Spanish hospitality, The Level lifts the getaway experience on Koh Samui island to a whole new level.”
In-room services include Nespresso coffee machines and coffee capsules and late check-out until 2pm subject to availability. Other benefits include a 10% discount at YHI Spa.
The Level guests have access to all of Meliá Koh Samui’s facilities, also including two restaurants, a swim-up bar, fitness center, ballroom and, for families, a kid’s club, outdoor playground and mini water park.
The resort offers an array of activities including Muay Thai boxing, yoga and water sports such as kayaking, as well as a jam-packed “Edutainment” program at the Kid’s Club “Kidsdom”.
Stringent health, safety and hygiene measures in place to protect guests, staff and the community from COVID-19 as part of a global program called “Stay Safe With Meliá”, developed in collaboration with certification, inspection and testing company Bureau Veritas.
Meliá Koh Samui has also obtained “Amazing Thailand Safety and Health: SHA” certification, developed by Thailand’s Ministry for Tourism in collaboration with public and private sector partners to mitigate the threat of COVID-19 and elevate the country’s tourism industry standards. Under the certification, Meliá Koh Samui must follow strict COVID-19 control guidelines by Thailand’s Department of Disease Control and Ministry of Public Health regarding sanitation and social distancing.
