Nestled in the Moselle region, one of Germany’s most popular holiday destinations, Schloss Lieser is a magnificent castle with 50 sumptuous rooms.
Built in 1885 and painstakingly restored in recent years, the hotel offers the grandeur of a 19th-century castle with all the comforts of modern-day. Rooms and suites are individually and tastefully furnished with antique furniture and ornate chandeliers, transporting guests back to a more decadent era.
History is embedded in the fabric of Schloss Lieser, with the castle linked to pivotal moments in both German and Dutch history. Previous owners include Clemens Freiherr von Schorlemer-Lieser, a wealthy politician who was related to the Dutch Royal Family. Over the centuries, politicians regularly gathered at the castle to discuss the future of Germany. Even the hotel’s fine-dining restaurant, Puricelli, takes its name from the Puricelli family who founded the castle.
Puricelli is the heart of the hotel and a warm, convivial space serving locally inspired dishes crafted by head chef Wolfgang Preßler. The carefully selected wine menu offers excellent wines from the Moselle region, as well as from all over the world. The Castle Bar captivates with classic leather armchairs and live music on select evenings.
The hotel’s wellbeing offering includes a fitness centre, indoor pool, and spa with three Finnish saunas, infrared sauna, steam room and multiple treatment rooms. Meetings, events and special occasions are expertly catered for across the hotel’s six meeting rooms including Ballroom, measuring 100 square metres.
Known for its stunning countryside and winemaking traditions (Riesling is a particularly famous export from the region), Moselle is an enchanting destination that Schloss Lieser celebrates throughout the guest experience. One of many immersive experiences, guests can adopt a grapevine from the hotel’s own vineyard, Schloßberg, and enjoy the wine produced from it during their next stay.
