NoMad Hotels has elevated Kristen Millar to chief brand officer as the company moves into a new stage of international expansion.
With its first Asia property, NoMad Hilton Singapore, scheduled to open later this year and a new Detroit location planned for the Michigan Central building in early 2027, Millar will take charge of NoMad’s global brand and design strategy. In this role, she will shape distinctive, multi-dimensional experiences across every brand touchpoint.
Responsible for creative direction and overall brand expression, she will help maintain a consistent presence across NoMad’s international portfolio, spanning interior design, digital channels, and curated art programs.
As NoMad grows its global luxury offering and responds to rising demand for premium, experience-led stays, Millar will play a key role in introducing the brand to new markets and strengthening its standing in the fast-changing luxury lifestyle space, the company said.
Millar brings 16 years of hospitality experience, including leadership positions at New York restaurants such as Eleven Madison Park, as well as her work developing NoMad’s brand framework in her previous role as global brand director.
She said NoMad represents storytelling, cultural connection, and the blend of creativity with hospitality. She added that the brand’s strength comes from both local and international collaboration, and that it will continue bringing together top talent in design, art curation, and food and beverage to create a richly layered guest experience. She also said she is honored to take on a central role in the brand’s expansion as NoMad enters new markets, adding that the next year will be one of the most exciting periods in the brand’s history. In her view, lasting legacy comes from thoughtful evolution that respects the past while shaping a future defined by detail, artistry, and deeply personal experiences.
Andrew Zobler, founder and CEO of The Sydell Group, which created and owned the brand before selling a majority stake to Hilton in 2024, said NoMad is entering an important chapter of global growth with several major openings ahead, including its first property in Asia and the much-anticipated NoMad Detroit. He said he is pleased to continue working with Millar in her new role, adding that her creative vision and strong understanding of the brand’s values have been instrumental in building NoMad’s international presence and will continue to guide its expansion into new regions.
