Cal Poly Pomona’s Collins College of Hospitality Management presented the 2025 Robert Mondavi Wine and Food Award to Bob Alter, CEO of Seaview Investors, in recognition of his pioneering career in hospitality investment, his unwavering commitment to hospitality education, and his support in mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs in the hospitality industry.

Hospitality Uncorked 2025, themed “La Dolce Vita,” welcomed 700 guests of Southern California’s vibrant tourism, entertainment, and sports industries for an evening of celebration, networking, and fundraising. Proceeds exceeding $1 million will support California’s largest hospitality school, ranked sixth among hospitality management schools in the world by CEO World magazine, through scholarships and reinvigorating the campus facilities to facilitate experiential learning for the next generation of hospitality leaders.

“The Collins College at Cal Poly Pomona is educating the future leaders of California’s hospitality, entertainment, and sports industries,” noted Margie Ferree Jones, Dean at Collins College. “Southern California is poised to host marquis special events, including the 2028 Summer Olympics, and our alumni and students are prepared to welcome the world with exceptional hospitality and service.”

Former Mondavi Award recipients include Julia Child, renowned cookbook author and television celebrity; Alan Fuerstman, Founder and CEO of Montage Hotels & Resorts; Caroline Beteta, President & CEO of Visit California; and the Marriott Family.
