Novotel Geelong is proud to announce the appointment of Scott Bear as its new General Manager. A dynamic and visionary leader, Scott brings a decade of experience in the hospitality industry, having worked across a diverse range of departments and hotels, from midscale to luxury.
Scott’s passion for hands-on leadership and his dedication to creating memorable experiences for both guests and colleagues have made him an emerging leader in the industry. His commitment to delivering outstanding service aligns perfectly with Novotel Geelong’s vision of excellence.
Scott studied a Bachelor of International Hotel Management at the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) from 2015–2017, laying the foundation for his stellar career. His accomplishments include:
- Gaining extensive operational experience in Food & Beverage and Rooms Division from 2015–2022.
- Completing the prestigious Accor Post Graduate Program in 2021.
- Achieving his first General Manager role at just 26, managing Mercure Sydney Manly Warringah.
- Being named Runner-Up for Australian Rising Star of the Year at the HM Awards.
- Pioneering initiatives such as becoming the first sponsor of the Manly Sea Eagles Women’s NRL Team.
Scott is also known for his dedication to giving back to the community. His philanthropic efforts include personally raising over $14,000 for the Children’s Cancer Institute through CEO Dare to Cure, where he shaved his head and participated in a skydive. He has also championed opportunities for the disability sector through his involvement with Hotel Etico, Australia’s first social enterprise hotel.
As General Manager of Novotel Geelong, Scott is focused on pushing the boundaries of service to create exceptional experiences for visitors to Geelong. He is equally passionate about fostering local connections, engaging with charities, and supporting volunteer initiatives that enrich the community.
