Vivek Braganza has been appointed as the new director of operations in charge of sales and marketing at Sofitel, Bahrain, Zallaq Thalassa Sea and Spa. Braganza has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. In his new role Braganza will be responsible for managing accommodations, F&B, spa services, and recreational activities, in addition to spearheading sales and marketing strategies designed to improve guest experiences and achieve operational excellence.
Prior to his role at Sofitel, Braganza worked at Shangri-La group, where he progressed from global sales offices in India and the Middle East, to taking charge of larger projects in Hong Kong. His leadership in this role spanned across multiple major cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Dubai, and Riyadh.
Before his career in hospitality, Braganza worked in the fast-moving consumer goods sector, he even played a key role in bringing Levi’s jeans to the Indian market. After getting his MBA in sales and marketing, Braganza made a shift toward hospitality. Starting with the Taj Group as a management trainee, he has since held a number of important positions in the industry, including time at the Marriott International and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
Over the years Braganza, has managed a diverse audience, including Indian weddings, Royal families, GCC luxury travellers, the Professional Congress Industry, Medical Tourism, Luxury Consortia, and the Diplomatic Corps.
An accomplished executive team leader since 2007, Braganza’s deep and varied experience comes from working with global brands across leisure, corporate, and MICE sectors, with a focus on luxury hotels.
Braganza is a member of the Indian Merchant Chamber’s Expert Committee on Tourism for the 2022-2024 term. He has also served as director of PR & communications for Skål International India (2020-2022) and for his home Chapter Skål Bombay. Additionally, Braganza is an associate member of EEMA (Exhibition and Event Management Association of India) and most recently served as senior auditor for Skål Bombay.
