Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel, a recently renovated beachfront oasis in the heart of South Beach, is excited to announce the appointment of Luis Rios as its new Director of Restaurants & Bars. With two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Rios brings a wealth of expertise, passion, and a deep commitment to elevating guest experiences. He will oversee the hotel’s dining and beverage operations, including the recently reimagined signature restaurant, The Social Club, and outdoor restaurant and bar, High Tide Beach Bar & Grill.
Rios joins Kimpton Surfcomber from The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C., where he served as Assistant Director of Food & Beverage. His career spans prestigious establishments, including the Waldorf Astoria and The Ritz-Carlton, with notable achievements in operations, team leadership, and guest satisfaction. Throughout his career, Rios has been recognized for creating memorable dining experiences, including several accolades for the Bull & Bear restaurant in Orlando, where he served as General Manager.
A native of Philadelphia with strong ties to Puerto Rico, Rios is excited to return to a tropical setting and bring his extensive experience in food and beverage operations to Miami Beach. Known for his energetic leadership style, Rios thrives in motivating teams to perform at their best while consistently exceeding guest expectations.
With his extensive experience in managing large teams and driving operational success, Rios is set to elevate Kimpton Surfcomber’s already vibrant culinary and beverage offerings. The hotel’s dining venues, including the recently reimagined The Social Club and the lively High Tide Beach Bar & Grill, offer something for every occasion. At The Social Club, Executive Chef Gastón Sanchez brings his inventive flair to an elevated South of France-inspired menu, where each dish is a creative take on classic flavors.
