The Chatwal, New York, a landmark luxury hotel in the heart of Manhattan, part of Hyatt’s prestigious Unbound Collection, is delighted to announce the appointment of Matt Tobin as its new Director of Sales and Marketing. With over 17 years of progressive experience in the luxury and lifestyle hotel industry, Matt Tobin boasts a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this pivotal role. In his new position, Matt Tobin will oversee all aspects of sales and marketing at The Chatwal, New York, focusing on driving revenues for the hotel, collaborating on marketing partnerships, and solidifying the hotel’s reputation as a leader in the luxury hospitality sector.

Most conveniently located on 44th Street, The Chatwal, New York is steps from the best of entertainment, dining, shopping, Broadway theaters and the city’s media and financial giants. The lavish landmark structure, originally built in 1905 by Stanford White, has been restored and renewed by master architect Thierry Despont, re-launching in 2010. Tobin’s impressive career has been marked by his significant contributions to renowned hotel brands and his exceptional ability to drive commercial success. Most recently, Matt served as the General Manager of Hotel Nyack, a JdV by Hyatt Hotel in Nyack, NY. Under his leadership, the hotel saw remarkable growth, with revenues increasing by 5% and GOP by 22.7% in 2023, marking the best financial performance since the hotel’s opening in 2016. Prior to his tenure at Hotel Nyack, Matt was the Area Director of Sales & Marketing for Bridge Hospitality Group in New York, NY, where his role included the pre-opening of a 510-key Hyatt Place and the transition of independent properties to Hilton Hotels. Matt’s strategic insights and leadership led to significant achievements.
