Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp is delighted to announce the appointment of Christian Hirt as Managing Director. Christian brings a wealth of experience with him, having had an impressive career at prominent luxury hotels around the world, including the United States, Germany, Russia, Turkey, Australia, and most recently Qatar, where he led two renowned hotels, the Raffles and the Fairmont in Doha.

With his expertise spanning all areas of hospitality, Christian is determined to cement the hotel’s position as one of the most unique luxury hotels in Europe.

Hidden behind ancient walls within the city’s Botanic Gardens, Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp is a former 13th century monastery, beginning its new chapter as the first world-class hotel in Antwerp with the completion of ‘The Botanic Suite’ – the final act of a sensitive eight-year transformation.

The 108 rooms and suites have been carved out of five historic buildings set over 20,000 sqm – connected to create a tranquil refuge in the heart of the city. The only hotel in Belgium to boast four Michelin Stars, Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp is one of Europe’s leading culinary hotspots, and guests can dine at 2 Michelin-star Hertog Jan, 1 Michelin-Star Fine Fleur or 1 Michelin-Star Het Gebaar – as well as two additional fine dining restaurants.
