Park Hyatt Aviara, the iconic Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond Southern California resort, today announces the appointment of Carlos A. Batista, a 20+ year culinary and beverage industry veteran, as director of food & beverage.
In his new role, Batista will lead the culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences for guests, overseeing all food and beverage operations throughout the property, from banquet dining to the resort’s unique dining venues, including: Ponto Lago, Park Hyatt Aviara’s signature restaurant offering Baja-inspired seafood and cuisine; Ember & Rye, a vintage steakhouse and seafood restaurant in collaboration with celebrity chef Richard Blais; and Pacific Point Lobby Bar, featuring the resort’s famous sunset views and a creative Pacific Rim-inspired menu.

Prior to joining Park Hyatt Aviara, Batista spent two decades overseeing the food and beverage programs at luxury hotels and resorts and top eateries across the country including Thompson Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk; Shore Club Hotel South Beach, Bagatelle, the Fontainebleau resort Miami Beach, FL and Wynn Resort Casino in Las Vegas, NV.With a history of success and industry contribution, Batista is a level one wine sommelier, holds several mixology and spirits certifications, is the founder and CEO of beverage training website bevclass.com, and the author of the book series: Guidance in Mixology, Pairing & Enjoying Life’s Finer Things.
