Concord Hospitality, the award-winning hotel management and development company which presently operates over 150 hotels across North America, announces the appointment of Mark Castriota as the General Manager of The Westin Atlanta Gwinnett, a highly anticipated new hotel on the campus of the Gas South District in Gwinnett County, Georgia slated for a grand opening in Spring 2024.
The 11-story, 348-room hotel contains 12 event spaces totaling over 12,700 square feet and will serve as a premier venue located in the 118-acre multipurpose campus known as the Gas South District which is home to the Gas South Arena, Gas South Theater and the recently renovated Gas South Convention Center. Located just minutes outside of Atlanta, Gas South District is the ultimate destination for concerts, events, meetings, conventions and more. The highly anticipated hotel will provide visitors with a variety of amenities and provide a level of excellence in service that has become synonymous with the Westin brand.
Mark Castriota takes the helm bringing 25 plus years of hospitality management experience and will work closely with Concord Hospitality’s leadership team to assemble and train a team that will be responsible for the hotel’s grand opening in 2024. As General Manager, Mark will also be responsible for overseeing all aspects of service at the hotel including daily operations, event sales and coordination, revenue management and growth strategies.

Prior to joining the team at Concord Hospitality, Mark served as the Managing Director of the JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District where he oversaw the hotel’s grand opening in 2021. Despite opening during the pandemic, the hotel quickly attained a reputation for quality customer service under Mark’s leadership. Prior to that he held positions at Loews Hotel Atlanta, Renaissance Atlanta Midtown and Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

In addition to its sizable event spaces, the hotel will also feature a number of amenities including a Starbucks, two restaurants, an indoor pool, a fitness center and an outdoor fire pit. The rooftop will be home to a new bar called Overstory which will feature a curated cocktail list prepared by an experienced mixologist with inspiration from campfire folklore and tall tales. Several food and beverage outlets will also be found throughout the hotel each boasting seasonal offerings with a focus on locally sourced and sustainable ingredients on par with the expectations of Atlanta’s impressive culinary scene.
