First Hospitality appoints Stacey J. Brown as Chief Human Resources Officer

With nearly 25 years of expertise, Brown brings an extensive background in human resources, labor and employment law, legal advocacy, and litigation.

As chief human resources officer for First Hospitality, Brown is responsible for developing and executing all aspects of the company’s associate strategy in support of the overall company business plan. Areas of focus include employee coaching and development; retention and recruitment; diversity, inclusion, and equity; preemptive labor relationships efforts; and business partner counsel.

Prior to joining First Hospitality, Brown was the chief human resources officer for DB Schenker Americas, a global logistics provider and supply chain company with more than 11,000 employees in 24 countries. An experienced lawyer, Brown began her career in labor and employment litigation. After spending several years inside of courtrooms, she left law firm life to become in-house counsel and a human resources leader.  Stacey has held leadership positions with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, The Albertson’s Companies (the parent company of Jewel-Osco, Safeway, and other grocery chains), and Walgreens.

When not at work, Brown is a loyal sports mom frequently found on the sidelines cheering on her two favorite student-athletes.   If not driving to practices or chasing her rescue Mastiff around at home, Brown spends the remaining her free time with Aspire of Chicago, where she volunteers as a member of the Board of Directors, or on Advisory Councils for Ball State University and University of Dayton School of Law, her two alma maters.
