The Boulevard Hotel, at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, has appointed Klaus Spiekermann as its new General Manager. Bringing extensive experience to the award-winning hotel, its team is confident that Spiekermann will continue to cement Boulevard’s reputation as one of the leading luxury hotels within the region.
With over 18 years of experience working in luxury hospitality – with previous experience including senior positions at the likes of the Banyan Tree Hotel, Seychelles, Le Meridien Hotel, Munich and The Corinthia Hotel, London – Klaus most recently was at the helm of both the LOUIS Hotel and the CORINTHIIA in Munich, Germany before taking up this latest role.
Boasting decades of experience, Klaus has also attained a number of key industry qualifications; including a degree in General Manager Program from the University Centre César Ritz, Switzerland and Washington State University in 2003 followed by certificates in Cornell University’s General Manager Programme and Hotel Real Estate & Asset Management in 2017 and 2020 respectively.
Commenting on his new role, Klaus said: “I’m extremely excited to be taking on the role of General Manager at the Boulevard Hotel, and already feel at home with the rest of the team. Having worked everywhere from the Seychelles to Kuala Lumpur, I’m really excited to bring my unique perspective and skillset to this new role to deliver superb, luxury experiences for our guests. I’m really looking forward to this challenge during the coming weeks and months ahead – watch this space!”
This latest appointment follows a host of triumphs for the hotel, including recently being selected as the HQ hotel for the 2022 Conservative Party Spring Conference in March and launching a series of new signature menus with offerings including Afternoon Tea and Sunday Brunch. Located at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, the seafront hotel has already established its trusted reputation as market-leader in the nation’s property scene since opening nearly three years ago.
Having opened its doors during the summer of 2019, the Boulevard Hotel in Blackpool has gone from strength to strength despite the unprecedented impact that the pandemic has had upon the hospitality sector; having been named in the top 10% of all hotels worldwide in the 2021 TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Awards.
Commenting on Klaus’ appointment, Amanda Thompson OBE, CEO of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, added:
“We are delighted to welcome Klaus to our senior management team; his vastly impressive resumé and years of experience across the globe speaks for itself and we’re confident that he’ll play a pivotal role in our growth strategy going forwards.
“I am truly looking forward to seeing how the team will continue to flourish under his management, and I am confident that his appointment marks the start of an exciting new chapter for the Boulevard Hotel.”
Boasting 120 stylish rooms, including eight junior suites, two park view suites, eight coastal suites and family rooms with a mixture of coastal and park facing rooms, the Boulevard Hotel sets the standard for luxury accommodation in Blackpool.
Employing over 95 team members – having taken on 10 recruits in the past 12 months – the Boulevard Hotel has celebrated several recent appointments, including Edward Kidson stepping into the role of Front of House Manager, joining from Jumeirah Grosvenor House Suites, London.
