Mondrian Shoreditch London is pleased to announce David Lockhart as the newly appointed General Manager of the new east London hotel opening in July 2021.
Previously Hotel Manager at The Ned Hotel London for over three years, Lockhart brings with him a wealth of five-star hotel experience and 10 years’ worth of knowledge within the hospitality industry.
Chadi Farhat, Chief Operating Officer, sbe states, “I am pleased to welcome David as our General Manager for this prestigious project. His vision will be critical in leading the team at the property and making Mondrian Shoreditch a global destination for travellers and a culinary destination for locals.”
David Lockhart, General Manager, Mondrian Shoreditch states, “I’m excited and honoured to be joining the team at Mondrian, one of the world’s leading lifestyle hotel brands – especially now as the hospitality industry begins to emerge from lockdown. Lifestyle hotels are plugged into their community and defined by the lifestyle they offer guests – great food, drink, entertainment and atmosphere is at the heart of the experience, and this is what Mondrian Shoreditch London will represent. As we establish Mondrian in the heart of the Shoreditch food and nightlife scene, we anticipate a buzz amongst locals, which should ultimately lead to intrigue from international guests post-pandemic. Our signature culinary concept by Dani Garcia, debut mixology concept, rooftop pool, co-working space & premium members’ club, amongst our many other basement bars, will also contribute to Mondrian Shoreditch London being a destination in its own right. It will be more than just a hotel, and rather a lifestyle spot for foodies and luxury / culture-seekers from all over the world.”
Lockhart began his hospitality career in 2010 at Firmdale Hotels – where he spent six years at Soho Hotel and Ham Yard – and later joined the renowned Shoreditch House for two years as Deputy General Manager. An expert in the lifestyle hospitality market, Lockhart has a multitude of strengths across travel, hospitality, food and beverage.
While Hotel Manager at The Ned Hotel London, the property won the Catey Award for Hotel of the Year in 2019 – a testament to Lockhart’s leadership and passion for team management and customer service. Throughout his career, Lockhart’s key areas of expertise have included a focus on private membership services, premium guest experiences and food and beverage management: all key elements which will be brought to the new Mondrian Shoreditch London.
The lifestyle hotel, owned by The Reuben Brothers, will open its doors July 2021 following a major overhaul and complete redesign by award-winning London interior design studio Goddard Littlefair.
