Roger Brantsma appointed GM for Hilton Tokyo

Hilton Tokyo has announced that Roger Brantsma is appointed as General Manger as of February 10th, 2020.

Roger began his career in food and beverage in Hilton Amsterdam and went on to be the Director of Operations in Hilton Sharks Bay Resort (Egypt), Hilton Phuket Resort & Spa (Thailand) and Hilton Sydney (Australia) before his first appointment as General Manager in Hilton Chennai (India) in 2011. Roger brings with him a wealth of experience, having spent over 20 years with Hilton Hotels and Resorts.

He was the cluster general manager for Hilton Auckland and Hilton Lake Taupo (New Zealand) and successfully completed a full refurbishment of Hilton Auckland in 2016.

Later, he was awarded “New Zealand’s General Manager of the Year 2016” at HM Awards in Sydney, Australia. In January 2017, Roger moved to Japan as the General Manager of Hilton Tokyo Bay, a Tokyo Disney Resort official hotel.

This year, he will be managing Hilton Tokyo which houses 825 guest rooms, 6 restaurant and bars, and 21 function rooms.

Hilton Tokyo opened on 20 Jun 1963 in Nagata-cho as part of Hilton Hotels & Resorts’ move of bringing their hospitality to the world. It was the first foreign hotel chain to enter Japan and the opening was to welcome the 1964 Olympic Games that was held in Tokyo. On 1 Sep 1984, the hotel moved its premises to the current building situated in Shinjuku, a major business and entertainment center in Tokyo.

Hilton Tokyo prides itself for its “Hilton standard” services. Housing 825 rooms which fuses international standards with Japanese interior decorations, all guest rooms also come with cable and wireless internet. The hotel also has a total of 6 restaurant & bars in its dining floor “Tzunohazu”, notably “JUNISOH” serving Japanese cuisine, “DYNASTY” serving Chinese cuisines, “Metropolitan Grill”, “ZATTA”, a chic bar & lounge. “Marble Lounge” that serves all-day buffet, and an old English-style bar “St. George’s Bar” can be found on its ground floor. 21 meeting & banquet floors houses up 600 seated guests or 900 standing guests.
