Kota Kinabalu’s premier beach resort Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa recently appointed Malaysian Su-Zie Chew as its new Resident Manager.
Chew is an F&B veteran, with 22 years of experience in restaurants and bars around the region under her belt. She worked her way up at international chain hotels before joining the Shangri-La Group in the year 2004.
With extensive experience in the service industry, Chew now oversees operations at the 496-room city resort in the capital city of the Malaysian state of Sabah.
Chew takes charge of operations of three restaurants, three bars including the world-renowned Sunset Bar, recreation facilities of the 25-acre resort and 492 rooms and suites at this Shangri-La Resort.
Chew reports to the Resort’s General Manager Timothy Sainsbury and leads a team of 700 staff at the Tanjung Aru Resort.
Her last posting was as Director of Food & Beverage at Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa in Singapore. Through her years in the hospitality industry, Chew has garnered experiences from other cities like Beijing, China, and Kuala Lumpur. This is Johor-born Chew’s first posting in Sabah.
