As the General Manager for mid-market’s BEI San Francisco, Marc Choplick brings a natural tenacity to educate and develop the team behind the new independent lifestyle hotel, and drive its brand forward.

Having more than 20 years of hospitality experience in managing restaurants and hotels in Las Angeles, Choplick established his tenure by managing and executing events, as well as growing his leadership skills while working renowned GRAMMY after parties and with dignitaries including U.S. presidents.

Choplick joined BEI’s management team at Pivot Hotels and Resorts with a mission to grow the brand’s core values, develop a dynamic management team, and provide the highest level of guest services.

“It is the vision and willingness to challenge ourselves that really drives me. I am excited to work with BEI to develop the independent lifestyle brand’s vision to be collaborative and innovative,” he explains. With a passion to deliver a unique client experience, he spearheads the training, service, and structure that establishes BEI as a leader in the hospitality industry.

Born and raised in New York, Choplick attributes his management style to his early upbringing in a family of educators. He built the foundations of his career in client-facing services throughout the restaurant industry, which included free-standing establishments as well as contract services. To further his development and learning, Choplick worked for the Business Contract Service Division of Marriott Hotels & Resorts in the Los Angeles market, where he received exposure managing culinary outlets from corporate dining to fine dining and high-end catering. Next, he worked for Rusty Pelican Restaurants and American Restaurant Group, where he gleaned leadership and organization skills as well as how to transition through building projects and acquisitions.

He then returned to hotels, applying his expansive knowledge of restaurant management for four years as the assistant director of food and beverage at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. He then moved into a hotel manager role for four years and continued a leadership path within the hotel industry. Later, he joined KOR development group to expand his hotel portfolio, and then moved on to serve as the general manager for eight years at the Westin in Long Beach. He joined BEI San Francisco to be a part of the exciting lifestyle and luxury division of Davidson Hotels & Resorts in 2018.
