Playa Hotels & Resorts, the owner and operator of all-inclusive resort properties under brands such as Hyatt, Hilton, Jewel Resorts and Panama Jack Resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean, has announced the appointments of Vishal Vaswani to General Manager of Jewel Grande Montego Bay Resort & Spa.
In his new position, Vaswani will be responsible for optimising operations at the resort and further enhancing service quality and guest relations. Vaswani’s appointment is part of Playa Hotels & Resorts’ larger employee growth model, a companywide initiative to ensure each team member’s success and advancement.
“We are pleased to see such dedicated members of the Playa family grow within our own portfolio of all-inclusive resorts,” said Alex Stadlin, Playa’s Chief Operating Officer. “Vishal has excelled in his leadership role to date and has demonstrated a superior ability to oversee the operations, budget and business development of our high-end resorts while motivating teams to deliver the highest levels of guest satisfaction. We are confident that his experience and skills will play a crucial role in strengthening the already stellar reputation of the Jewel brand in Jamaica.”
Originally from Jamaica, Vishal Vaswani joined Playa Hotels & Resorts in 2014 as director of rooms for the Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall, quickly climbing the ranks to his most recent position as hotel manager of the same properties. He has held a variety of managerial positions at AAA Five Diamond and five-star hotels and resorts throughout Jamaica, bringing more than a decade of tourism and hospitality experience to his new role as general manager of the Jewel Grande Montego Bay Resort & Spa.
Vaswani is a graduate from the Nova Southeastern University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in professional management.
