Sea Island, a Forbes Five-Star resort on the coast of Georgia, is proud to announce the appointment of Vijay Singh as Managing Director of Resort Operations for Sea Island Company.

In this role, Singh will lead all aspects of the resort operations including management of department executives. He will work closely with the Strategic Leadership Team and be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operational aspects of the coveted resort.

“Singh is an outstanding hospitality professional with extensive experience, an impressive resume of results, and a keen grasp of how a vibrant and passionate service culture drives the success of an organisation. I have known Vijay for the past seven years and long admired his skills and results from a distance,” said Scott Steilen, President and CEO of Sea Island. “He is well acclimated with Sea Island and its illustrious history, and we are confident his leadership will bring the resort to new heights.”

A veteran leader in the industry, Singh most recently served as Vice President of Operations at Salamander Hotels, a hotel management and ownership company that he assisted in forming. There he oversaw operations across six hotels before switching gears to focus on the company’s newest hotel in Charleston, The Hotel Bennett. Prior to Salamander Hotels, Singh spent 13 years with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and opened the Sanctuary Hotel at Kiawah Island.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Sea Island family, and the opportunity to lead a successful team of such an iconic American resort is an honour,” said Singh. “Sea Island has a rich history marked by the gracious hospitality of its staff and I look forward to continuing the distinguished legacy of this luxury destination.”
