Regent Hotels & Resorts will reimagine the world of fine dining introducing two fresh interpretations of the brand’s multi-sensory pop-up dining experience, Regent Taste Studio. In collaboration with a cast of celebrated creatives, chefs from Regent Phu Quoc, Regent Shanghai on The Bund and Regent Chongqing will present two new chapters in the Regent Taste Studio series.
Regent Taste Studio showcases unexpected collaborations in the form of pop-up creative dining experiences. Multimedia Partnerships with artisan of drip artistry Mr. Dripping, architectural designer Trung Nghĩa and an eclectic roster of creatives ranging from modern dancers to experimental musicians will feature in the new season of cult dining events.
Tom Rowntree, Vice President of Luxury & Lifestyle Brands at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “Each Taste Studio is a unique culinary immersion, celebrating expertise through a creative and great story between the Chef and the artist. The fusion of culinary and artistic talent brings to life a dining experience that is truly immersive, leaving an indelible impression on guests long after the evening ends.”
Regent Taste Studios offer a moment in time to experience the merging of culinary and artistic talent, creating memories that last well beyond the evening itself. An invitation like no other, attendees of the Regent Taste Studio are not mere spectators; but contributors in artistry, where the boundaries of gastronomy and cultural expression are redefined.
Following its debut in Greater China last year, the second season of Regent Taste Studio will unfold at Regent Shanghai on The Bund this winter, bringing together four talented chefs from Shanghai and Chongqing to captivate diners. Regent Shanghai on The Bund Executive Chefs, Ting Wai Wan and Him Chong, together with Catherine Xu, Sommelier of Regent Shanghai on The Bund and Roy Pan, Executive Chef of Regent Chongqing will present this next chapter.
Themed ‘The Magic of Beauty of Contrast’, drawing inspiration from the stained-glass artwork of Regent Shanghai on The Bund, this edition brings together four Regent chefs with an eclectic roster of artists ranging from modern dance and experimental music to glassmaking and digital multimedia. The collaboration is built on five meticulously crafted chapters: ‘Revive to Life’, ‘Elevate Above the Sea’, ‘Melody of Food’, ‘Where Time Can Not Find Us’ and ‘Timeless Uplifting’ brought to life through digital interactive art. Visual lighting and sound effects will transport guests to a far-away world.
The Way of the Sea Taste Studio invites guests on a remarkable voyage through Vietnamese culture and artistry, set against the idyllic backdrop of Phu Quoc’s pristine coastline. The culinary pop-up, crafted by renowned architectural designer Mr. Trung Nghĩa and visionary Artist Mr. Dripping, will unfold across seven chapters, each representing a new lens through which to experience Vietnam’s maritime heritage.
The culinary narrative will be illustrated through flavor by Regent Phu Quoc’s Executive Chef Francesco Andreoni and Chef de Cuisine Chef Andy Huỳnh, who together will present a bold, ocean-inspired menu that emulates the diverse and vibrant flavors of the sea. Guests will embark on a journey that connects them deeply to Vietnam’s coastal beauty, as they savor dishes that mirror the richness and mystery of the ocean.
To elevate the experience, Mr. Dripping will serve as the visual narrator, weaving together the journey of a fisherman through traditional Vietnamese materials, with his unique drip ink technique. The resulting work produced will create a dramatic architectural installation that will be exhibited at Regent Phu Quoc.
