U.S. hotel results for week ending 17 October

U.S. hotel occupancy was virtually flat from the previous week at 50.1%, according to the latest data from STR through 17 October. 

U.S. hotel results11-17 October 2020 (percentage change from comparable week in 2019):

  • Occupancy: 50.1% (-30.7%)
  • Average daily rate (ADR): US$97.69 (-28.3%)
  • Revenue per available room (RevPAR): US$48.91 (-50.3%)

Aggregate data for the Top 25 Markets showed lower occupancy (44.4%) but higher ADR (US$101.56) than all other markets.

Eight of those major markets reached or surpassed 50% occupancy, led by Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Virginia (53.7%); San Diego, California (53.5%); and Phoenix, Arizona (52.9%).

Markets with the lowest occupancy levels for the week included Oahu Island, Hawaii(20.0%), and Orlando, Florida (35.7%).
