Hilton Honors saw a new record for the highest winning bid on the Hilton Honors Experiences platform: 2.9 million Points for the Make the Maldives your Paradise Playground experience. It topped the previous winning bid by 850,000 Points, placed in 2018 on the Discover the Charm of Lake Como & Milan.
“We’ve gone all-in with our luxury hotel openings in 2019 because we know that’s what our guests are looking for,” said Jonathan Nouri, Vice President and Global Head of Hilton Honors at Hilton. “With this recent high-value bid, it tells us that Hilton Honors members are prioritizing luxury experiences that give them access to unique and exclusive destinations.”
Applauded by TIME Magazine as one of the “World’s Top 100 Greatest Destinations in 2018,” Conrad Maldives Rangali Island is an idyllic island paradise. Rangali Island was the first resort to showcase water villas built on stilts above the lagoon. The resort also has the world’s first undersea residence (THE MURAKA) and restaurant (Ithaa). The Hilton Honors member who secured the winning bid will get to experience the property with a four-night stay, including exclusive access to THE MURAKA, a personal concierge, private jet boat transportation and evening of customized dining with the resort’s Executive Chef.
The record-setting bid shows how Hilton Honors members’ desire for more over-the-top experiences has evolved. In the past year, Hilton Honors has worked to meet that demand by introducing new, once-in-a-lifetime luxury offerings to the Experiences Platform, while continuing to deliver a wide range of other extraordinary experiences and exclusive access to its more than 94 million members.
The starting bid for this once-in-a-lifetime experience was set at 500,000 Points; after 48 hours, bidding reached one million Points and climbed from 2.15 million to 2.9 million within the last 10 hours of the auction’s closing. Prior to this latest winning bid, Hilton saw similar high-value redemptions of luxury property experiences including Discover the Maldives with Conrad Maldives Rangali Island and Experience South Sea Magic at Conrad Bora Bora Nui.
