NoVacancy Exceeds Visitor Number Expectations

Since being acquired by National Media last year, the transformation of the once circa 200 attended conference has continued to gain unprecedented support from hoteliers, vendors, suppliers and the wider industry community. Not just of local interest, visitors attended from across the country and from New Zealand, Fiji and across Asia.

Portfolio Director Brad Langton said of the event’s success, “Our goal in switching the event to exhibition format was to launch with 120 exhibitors and we beat that by 34% with 160 vendors and suppliers. Our attendance goal of 1800 – 2000 was also far superseded with 3,387 hoteliers, speakers, media, vendors and industry suppliers attending across the two days.”

“The feedback has been phenomenal from all involved and in attendance. We’ve been inundated with repeat bookings – and new bookings – for 2019, which demonstrates just how important NoVacancy is for suppliers looking to do business with chain hotels, independents hotels, luxury and lifestyle hotels, small motels and motor-inns, serviced apartments and villas, designers and consultants,” he said.

Visitors were treated to more than 40 free-to-attend sessions, the majority proving so popular it was standing room only. Innovative in every sense, two of the four theatres also utilised ‘silent disco’ technology aimed at reducing noise clutter across the exhibition which was extremely well received.
