AHC Hospitality announces the appointment of Adam Tanner to assistant vice president of food and beverage, where he will oversee the restaurant and catering programs of AHC Hospitality’s hotels, including the historic Amway Grand Plaza, Curio Collection by Hilton, and the JW Marriott Grand Rapids, in downtown Grand Rapids’ Hotel District.
“After working internationally throughout my career, I’m thrilled to return home to Grand Rapids to bring a worldly perspective to AHC Hospitality’s food and beverage program and elevate Grand Rapids’ dining scene even further,” said Tanner. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to AHC Hospitality’s continued growth.”
A Grand Rapids native, Tanner has over 25 years of hospitality experience handling day-to-day operations, team management and long-term strategy at international hotels, including the Mandarin Oriental Washington D.C.; The Westin Siray Bay Resort and Spa in Phuket, Thailand; and the Peninsula Chicago. Most recently, Tanner led the food and beverage program of the Mandarin Oriental Taipei as its executive chef, overseeing over 44,000 square feet of meeting and event space and eight dining venues, including a Michelin-starred restaurant.
There is no place like home,” says George Aquino, vice president, and managing director of AHC Hospitality. “Mr. Tanner’s return to his roots is such a blessing for AHC Hospitality and West Michigan. Adam’s experience working in diverse cultures and cuisines will greatly enhance our ability to provide a better experience for all our guests and associates.”
A graduate of The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Tanner holds a master’s degree in hospitality administration as well as a bachelor’s degree in culinary management from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
