Waikīkī Beach Marriott Resort & Spa today announced it will host the Waikīkī debut of Sounds of the Ocean, an internationally acclaimed, immersive experience that has captivated audiences around the world to encourage mental wellness and support marine conservation. Inside a custom digital dome theater, audiences will be completely enveloped by 360° ocean visuals, 100% real sounds of marine life, and a mesmerizing original score set to the natural rhythms of the sea.
Opening October 15, 2026 and featuring both 25-minute daytime and 45-minute evening presentations offered daily, the experience is designed for audiences of all ages and provides a unique indoor attraction for families, couples, wellness seekers, and ocean enthusiasts alike.
“With Sounds of the Ocean, we’re not simply inviting people to observe life beneath the waves,” said Founder & Creative Director, Joshua Sam Miller. “We’re inviting them to reconnect with nature, experience the wonder of the ocean through sound and art, and leave inspired to protect the sea.”
The attraction is located within the Waikīkī Beach Marriott Resort & Spa and open to both resort guests and the public, complementing the resort’s commitment to creating experiences that celebrate Hawaiʻi’s natural beauty, culture, and spirit of mālama.
“The ocean is at the heart of Hawaiʻi’s identity, culture, and way of life,” said Mark Weatherill, General Manager of Waikīkī Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. “We’re proud to host this immersive attraction and its important mission to inspire ocean stewardship while providing an unforgettable experience in the heart of Waikīkī.”
As part of its commitment to marine conservation, 10% of every ticket sold will directly support the Papahānaumokuākea Marine Debris Project, helping protect one of the world’s most significant marine ecosystems.
“Every ticket sold directly helps protect one of the last truly wild places on Earth.” said James Morioka, Executive Director and Co-Founder of the Papahānaumokuākea Marine Debris Project. “This support enables us to remove hazardous ghost nets from coral reefs, rescue marine wildlife, and preserve the ecological and cultural heritage of Papahānaumokuākea for future generations.”
Whether visitors are seeking a memorable family outing, a unique date night, a mindful escape, or an inspiring cultural and educational experience, Sounds of the Ocean offers something unlike anything else currently available on Oʻahu.
