On the shores of Lake Geneva, Evian Resort welcomes a new addition to its cultural offering with the opening of La Source Vive in June 2026. Joining Les Mélèzes, the new 500-seat concert hall broadens the resort’s musical programme beyond its celebrated summer festival, establishing a year-round home for chamber music, artistic creation and performance.
La Source Vive – A new architectural and musical landmark
Designed by architects Patrick Bouchain and Philippe Chiambaretta (PCA-STREAM), La Source Vive is a new 500-seat concert hall created for chamber music, recitals and contemporary performance. With its flowing, shell-like form and carefully considered acoustics, the venue has been designed to bring audiences closer to the performers, creating an intimate setting where every performance feels immersive.
Open year-round, La Source Vive complements the larger-scale programming of Les Mélèzes while providing a dedicated space for chamber music, artistic residencies and interdisciplinary collaborations spanning music, theatre and dance. Its flexible stage, integrated recording studio and adaptable performance spaces also allow artists to rehearse, create and record within the same venue. The hall officially opened in June 2026 as the Rencontres Musicales d’Évian celebrates its 50th anniversary, marking an important moment for both the festival and the future of music at Évian Resort.
La Grange au Lac – The historic heart of Les Mélèzes
Alongside La Source Vive, La Grange au Lac remains the original home of Les Mélèzes. Opened in 1993 and recognised for its striking all-wood architecture and exceptional acoustics, the 1,000-seat concert hall continues to host orchestras, symphonic repertoire and large-scale performances. Originally created for the Rencontres Musicales d’Évian, La Grange au Lac has welcomed many of the world’s leading musicians over the past three decades. Today, together with La Source Vive, it gives Les Mélèzes two distinct performance spaces: one designed for the scale and power of orchestral music, the other for the intimacy of chamber performances and recitals. Both facilities allow the programme to span everything from major symphonic works to smaller, close-up performances throughout the year.
Les Mélèzes – A year-round programme
Alongside the opening of La Source Vive, Les Mélèzes introduces its 2026–2027 season, bringing performances to both venues throughout the year. The programme includes Musique à La Grange, a series of orchestral concerts presented in partnership with leading ensembles from across the Lake Geneva region, alongside Musique à La Source, celebrating chamber music, recitals and interdisciplinary performances in the new hall. Seasonal highlights also include the Festival de l’Avent, a festive programme spanning music, opera and dance, as well as the return of the internationally renowned Rencontres Musicales d’Évian in summer 2026.
