An Australian national from Queenscliff, Victoria who spent her early years enjoying an active outdoor lifestyle in the town’s vibrant green peninsula, McGrath began her career as a yoga instructor in 2001. Residing in Fiji for the past eight years, she emerged as a leader within the Fijian yoga industry in her capacity as managing director and senior yoga Instructor at the Yoga Centre in Suva for the last five years. Previously, McGrath served as managing director and group fitness instructor at My Fitness Yoga center, also in Suva.

In her new role, McGrath oversees all aspects of the resort’s daily, complimentary yoga classes and private guest instruction with focus on incorporating Viti Levu’s natural surroundings into an invigorating yoga experience for guests of all ages and levels. Private yoga instruction is available by appointment in the privacy of guests’ own oceanfront villa or can be arranged at many of the breathtaking vantage points around property that overlook the cerulean South Pacific Ocean. Nanuku’s state-of-the-art fitness center, located within the Lomana Spa and Wellness Centre, offers guests a variety of wellness endeavours that include Asana yoga classes that balance and harmonize the body, mind and spirit; Pranayama classes that utilize breathing to influence the flow of Ôprana’ vital energy; meditation classes that focus and quiet the mind; and Reiki sessions thatÊbalance, healing, relaxation and stress reduction.

McGrath’s appointment follows recent enhancements to the wellness facilities and offerings at Nanuku including two new on-the-beach spa treatment rooms and the introduction of Watsu Aqua Therapy for guests. Available to guests as a weekly class or private offering, Watsu is a gentle form of in-water body therapy that combines elements of massage, joint mobilisation, shiatsu, muscle stretching and dance that has a range of therapeutic benefits and is even ideal for post-operative rehabilitation or prenatal care.
