Watching the Virgin Hotels brand grow bigger every day

It’s really exciting to see the Virgin Hotels brand grow bigger every day (literally). I’ve been keeping an eye on the construction of Virgin Hotels Dallas using a time-lapse video and you can see it growing closer to completion and really see it putting its mark on the Design District.

I also visit our future Virgin Hotels whenever I’m in town and it was great seeing how the sites in San Francisco and New York are also progressing. Every brick laid is a step closer to shaking up the hotel industry for good.

We decided to launch Virgin Hotels out of frustration with the hotel industry as a frequent traveller, there is nothing more irritating than not being able to get good, free Wi-Fi or being charged extortionate prices in your mini bar. With Virgin Hotels, we want to solve these kinds of problems and make staying in a hotel a comfortable, customisable, fun experience.

It’s great to see this ethos come to life in our Virgin Hotels Chicago, which was the first to open its doors in 2015. I’m proud that it was crowned the best hotel in the US by CondŽ Nast.

It’ll be so nice to kick back and relax in more Virgin Hotels when I’m travelling, and in the next few years, there’ll be Virgin Hotels popping up in Nashville, New York, Silicon Valley, New Orleans, Palm Springs, Las Vegas and Edinburgh.

I was thrilled to be in Vegas recently to announce that Virgin Hotels will take over the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, which has been my favourite casino for many years. It’s great to walk around and see memorabilia of Johnny Rotten, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie and other Virgin bands plastered on the walls. I can’t wait to bring it back to its former glory under the Virgin brand.

You can keep an eye on how we’re progressing by following Virgin Hotels on Instagram and watching the time-lapse on the website.
