Hotel Vitale Names John Remmers as General Manager

 width=Hotel Vitale, a Joie de Vivre hotel, is pleased to announce that John Remmers has been named General Manager. Remmers will assume the Hotel Vitale role as part of his new assignment as Area General Manager for Two Roads Hospitality in San Francisco, where he will also oversee Joie de Vivre’s The Marker. With 32 years of experience managing hotels and boutique hotel brands, John is perfectly suited to step into this leadership position and guide two distinctive, San Francisco Joie de Vivre properties.

John comes to Hotel Vitale most recently from Hotel Nia, where he served as the General Manager for the opening of the new property. He hired the operations, management and sales teams; developed the SOPs for each department; and created the menus, wine lists and cocktail offerings for the hotel’s food and beverage offerings.

Prior to Hotel Nia, John served in an executive capacity at Magnolia Hotels, a collection of four-star boutique hotels situated in historic buildings in Dallas, Denver, Houston, Omaha and St. Louis. He was with Magnolia for a decade, starting out as a General Manager at the Magnolia Houston and working his way up with increasing responsibilities to become Vice President for the brand. Under his direction, he elevated Magnolia Houston to Four-Diamond status; earned Òhotel of the YearÓ for Magnolia Park Cities, Magnolia Dallas and Magnolia Houston; and successfully transitioned Magnolia Houston to a Tribute Portfolio Hotel.

Prior to Magnolia Hotels, John served as General Manager for several luxury properties in the Houston Area, including Hotel ZaZa, the Warwick and Dolce Hotels & Resorts, an independent boutique brand within the Wyndham family. Before this, he served for seven years as General Manager for three properties under the Omni Hotels & Resorts brand in Charleston, SC, Dallas, TX and Jacksonville, FL.

John started his career in Houston working at five-star luxury hotels, including a management training program at the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and the Ritz Carlton.Ê He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management.
