Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay has appointed Elias J. Moukarzel as its new general manager. With over 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality, Moukarzel brings extensive expertise to the role, aligning with the hotel’s commitment to high standards of service and elegance.
A Lebanese-Russian national educated in Europe, Moukarzel holds an MBA in Hospitality Management and Tourism from Ecole Supérieure Internationale de Savignac in France. He also attended the Hotel School in Toulouse, establishing a strong foundation in hospitality.
Throughout his career, Moukarzel has worked with prominent hotel groups such as InterContinental, Marriott, Hilton, Accor, and most recently, Fairmont. His professional journey has taken him to key luxury destinations including Monaco, Cannes, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha, Beirut, and Amman. This global experience equips him with a broad perspective on international hospitality management.
In addition to his leadership roles, he has substantial experience in food and beverage management. He has developed award-winning culinary concepts and overseen operations in properties that have hosted heads of state, royalty, and dignitaries. His hands-on approach and focus on creating exceptional dining experiences have earned recognition within the industry.
