Adam Dyke has been appointed general manager of the Grand, York, succeeding Simon Mahon, who stepped down in September after five years.
Dyke joins the 207-room luxury hotel from his previous role as group operations director at Luxury Family Hotels. With over 20 years of experience in hospitality, he has held leadership roles at notable properties including Artfarm, Chewton Glen, the Devonshire Arms on the Bolton Abbey Estate, Wynyard Hall Hotel, and Yorebridge House.
Dyke expressed excitement about his new role, especially since he has roots in Yorkshire, where he has lived since he was 13. He praised the Grand, York for its commitment to excellent service and memorable guest experiences, saying he looks forward to reconnecting with Yorkshire’s unique hospitality culture. Andrew Kendrick, Splendid Hospitality Group’s managing director of hotels, highlighted Dyke’s upcoming contributions to both the hotel’s leadership and the wider hotel division, emphasizing the expectation of continued growth and operational success under Dyke’s guidance.
The Grand, York, owned by Splendid Hospitality Group, offers an array of amenities, including a spa, two restaurants (the Legacy with three AA rosettes and the Rise), and a cookery school. Splendid Hospitality Group, led by Shiraz and Nadeem Boghani, operates a portfolio of 24 hotels and 39 fast food restaurants, with a reputation for quality and guest satisfaction across their properties.
