The hotel follows a comprehensive sustainability management plan with a key focus on efficient energy and water conservation. Green Wrap Technology has been utilized to reduce electricity consumption and carbon emissions. In addition, old printers have been replaced with energy efficient printers while the changeover to LED lights is ongoing. The conversion to water saving low flow aerators, sensors and dual flush systems also continues.

All employees receive training in Green Globe practices and sustainability awareness programs. This year, pro-active preventative maintenance programs and paperless check-in procedures have been introduced. To encourage guests and staff alike to sort waste appropriately, segregation bins are placed around the hotel.

Movenpick Hotel & Apartments Bur Dubai has invested money, time and effort in supporting several CSR and welfare activities. One of the hotel’s major CSR initiatives is the ‘A Kilo of Kindness’ campaign that runs in September each year. This year more than 700 kilograms of food, clothing and educational supplies were collected from guests and donated in support of Beit Al Khair, an organisation that helps children with special needs, orphans and students. In 2017, staff also participated in a blood donation drive, supported the purchase of books in the Pink Book Sale, took part in the Pink Walkathon and will lend a helping hand in Clean Up UAE.
