Meyer Jabara Hotels is on a mission. Recently, the owner/operator of 31 hotels hired an investment expert to source acquisition opportunities, equity investors, and debt financing.
Today, Chas Henry joins the company as Senior VP of Business Development and Acquisitions. Henry is tasked with growing the company’s third-party management contracts and spreading the word that Meyer Jabara Hotels is exceptional at operating hotels for ownership groups looking to diversify their portfolios.
2024 is going to be an exciting year for Meyer Jabara Hotels,” said Justin Jabara, MJH president. “We are investing not just in the right assets, but in the right people who will help us grow at the right pace. Chas brings a dynamic background to our company, and his relationships with investors and joint venture partners will surely grow our portfolio – not too big or too fast – in markets where it makes the most sense.
“I’ve known Chas for many years,” Jabara said. “He brings nearly a decade of hotel development experience and a wealth of relationships to the table. His highly competitive nature – something he cultivated on the football field while playing for the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers – will go a long way as we go head-to-head against some top players in the third-party management space.”
Impressive Background
Prior to joining Meyer Jabara Hotels, Henry served as Vice President of Business Development and Acquisitions for GF Hotels & Resorts where he was responsible for identifying and implementing strategies to grow the company’s hotel portfolio through hotel acquisitions, third-party management assignments, and new development projects. His experience includes resorts, conference centers, full service and select service hotels across the country.
Henry is a graduate of the University of Florida and still maintains a continuing involvement by serving as a board member on the University of Florida Bergstrom Real Estate Advisory Board and is often called upon to sit on councils at the University of Florida. He resides in Tampa, Fla., and is an active participant within the hospitality community through event sponsorship, speaking engagements and panelist involvement across the nation.
“Meyer Jabara Hotels has always been a formidable player in the management company arena,” Henry said. “From the moment I started in this industry, MJ was undisputedly an industry-leading owner/operator that I admired for its family-oriented culture and 47 years in the business. Justin has always been extremely approachable and a good source to bounce off ideas. His future growth plans for the company and ability to attract top talent like new CIO Ian McAuley impressed me to such an extent that I had to be a part of the team. Although the industry is not back to pre-COVID levels from a development standpoint, the growth opportunity for Meyer Jabara Hotels is there due to the infrastructure long built by Bill Meyer and Richard Jabara.
“Owners needing a best-in-class third-party hotel manager should look no further than Meyer Jabara Hotels,” Henry said. “I’ve been in the business for nearly a decade. I’ve gone head-to-head with MJ for third-party management contracts. Their proven track record and quality of work are unmatched. I whole-heartedly agree with Justin – ‘2024 is going to be an exciting year for Meyer Jabara Hotels.’”
