With a distinguished career in hospitality spanning over two decades, van Workum brings a rich tapestry of skills and a passion for outstanding service to this highly anticipated launch, set to open its doors, Summer of 2024.
Expected to be the cornerstone of Longboat Key, the resort boasts bold design, exquisite dining experiences, destination spa and resort grounds and a commitment to providing an unparalleled level of hospitality and service. van Workum, with his extensive leadership background, will oversee all operations of the 168 guest rooms-including 26 suites with terraces, positioning the property as a premier destination in the heart of Longboat Key.
Bringing a rich depth of knowledge cultivated at prestigious establishments such as The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach and The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park, Winfred is poised to establish a new standard of luxury on Florida’s cultural coast and contribute to the triumph of The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort.

Born in the Netherlands into a family of hospitality entrepreneurs, van Workum’s impressive career followed in their footsteps, starting in The Hague, and spanning across global cosmopolitan destinations, a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence. Notably, his recent roles as Market General Manager, overseeing the St. Regis, Bal Harbour and the W Miami, showcasing his continued success and proficiency in the industry. This newest appointment marks Winfred’s fourth association with the St. Regis brand, a testament to his outstanding leadership and remarkable achievements within the revered brand.
