Crypto-friendly travel agency SBC Travel launches digital booking engine

SBC Travel, a leading technology partner in the hospitality and travel industry that provides innovative, disruptive payment and rewards solutions, has officially launched its online booking platform, unlocking a new way for travellers to pay for travel using cryptocurrency.

A subsidiary of Switzerland-based Swissbloc Capital, SBC Travel’s new website allows users to instantly and seamlessly redeem Global Travel Coin GTX (Swissbloc Capital’s very own currency) and pay with credit cards on travel bookings to access exclusive member-only perks.

The Blockchain-powered travel booking and rewards ecosystem will unlock a host of special offers and rewards across a global network of hospitality partners for its rapidly expanding digital currency membership community, which currently comprises over 100,000 members.

Industry heavyweights such as Hotelbeds have already joined SBC Travel’s network of affiliates, providing heavily discounted travel packages and rewards in some of the world’s most sought after destinations.

Ranging from unique, money-can’t-buy travel experiences through to retail product, food and beverage, accommodation and flights, SBC Travel members will enjoy exclusive access to these perks and privileges with the launch of this new booking portal.

And as one of the world’s only crypto-friendly travel agencies, SBC Travel allows travel to be purchased using Bitcoin, Ethereum and other digital currencies, including GTX, as well as traditional payment methods such as credit cards. Users now have the ability to put their cryptocurrency towards their next holiday or business trip.

SBC Travel’s secure booking portal also makes booking travel easy, with instant cryptocurrency or credit card payments, no hidden fees, and significantly lower fees than traditional travel sites.

Additionally, rewards can be transferred to retail, food, flights and accommodation, unlike some other rewards programs, which often make it difficult for users to access and transfer rewards points.

In other news, Swissbloc Capital has also announced that leading digital industry specialist Mr Anthoney Jayasekera will be joining the team as Chief Digital Officer, effective 1 March 2019.

With an impressive career spanning 20 years, Anthoney will bring with him a wealth of experience across a broad range of digital and e-commerce disciplines.

Most recently having held the position of Head of Digital for leading hotel owner, operator and investor Minor Hotels’ Australia and New Zealand division, Anthoney will be critical to Swissbloc and SBC Travel’s ongoing success and growth.
