
IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, announces the signing of InterContinental Manchester – Deansgate, marking the fifth InterContinental in its UK and Ireland portfolio. Owned by Blue Manchester Hotel Limited, the 264-room hotel is expected to be fully rebranded by 2027, and will remain open to guests in the meantime.
InterContinental Manchester – Deansgate will further cement IHG’s position as the largest global hotel company in the UK and Ireland, where it currently operates 363* open hotels and has 33* in development. The hotel will also expand IHG’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio in the market, adding to its existing 27* open hotels, including its existing four InterContinental properties – InterContinental London – The O2, InterContinental London Park Lane, InterContinental Edinburgh The George and InterContinental Dublin.
Located in the heart of Manchester, on one of the city’s most historic streets, guests will have several high-end restaurants, retail outlets and a vibrant nightlife all on their doorstep. For business travellers visiting the city, the hotel will be in close proximity to Manchester’s main conference centre and Spinningfields, Manchester’s premier financial and professional services district.
The hotel forms part of the famous 47-storey Beetham Tower – one of the tallest buildings outside of London. Set across 22 floors, InterContinental Manchester – Deansgate will feature a variety of luxury amenities to cater to both leisure and corporate guests. Following a comprehensive refurbishment, the hotel will include 264 guestrooms, each with undisturbed views of the Manchester skyline, a large ground floor ‘podium’ bar and restaurant. The hotel will also feature an indoor pool, sauna and steam room, and fitness centre. InterContinental Manchester – Deansgate will also feature 18 meeting rooms, with a total event space of 1,821sq, catering to social gatherings and MICE opportunities.

InterContinental Manchester – Deansgate will join IHG’s fast-growing luxury and lifestyle collection, now the second largest in the world, with more than 105* open hotels and 72* in development across Europe. The hotel will join 34 InterContinental properties across Europe, including the recently opened InterContinental Chantilly Chateau Mont Royal, and nine pipeline properties, including InterContinental Belgrade which will mark the brand’s return to Serbia after 20 years.
